Sheffield systems, and how they age

A service is a measurement job, not a look-over.

Sheffield spans several hundred metres of altitude, so the winter design temperature genuinely depends on which part of the city the house is in.

Sheffield is built on hills and in stone and brick - terraces in Walkley, Crookes and Heeley, larger villas towards Nether Edge and Ranmoor, and estates running up to the Peak District boundary inside the city itself.

Servicing a Sheffield system

How often

Once a year. Most manufacturers make a documented annual service a condition of the warranty, so a missed year can leave the expensive parts of the system uncovered.

What we measure

Airflow, refrigerant, system pressure, delta T and flow rates, checked against the figures the system was commissioned at rather than against a general expectation.

The property side

Steep sites, solid walls and the altitude range within the city all matter. A house at Stannington has a different design temperature from one at Attercliffe, and we treat them that way.

What you get

A written report each visit, kept on file, plus care plan options that include cover for call-outs.
