Air Source Heat Pump Servicing in Halifax

Servicing heat pumps in Halifax

What the local housing and weather do to a heat pump between services.

Halifax is built of stone on steep valley sides - back-to-backs, through terraces and substantial stone villas, with the Calder valley settlements running west from the town.

High, wet and windy. Halifax has one of the harder winter climates in our coverage and the design temperature should reflect the actual altitude of the plot, not the postcode average.

A Halifax service, in detail

What an annual visit actually covers.

Component inspection. Fan bearings, heat exchangers, expansion vessels, valves and both sets of coils checked for dirt and wear.
Performance against commissioning. Airflow, refrigerant, system pressure, delta T and flow rates measured and compared with the figures the system was signed off at.
Filters and the magnetic filter. Cleaned or replaced, with the glycol checked where the system uses it.
Controls and wiring. Thermostats, controls and electrical connections tested, and the settings put back where the design intended.
The property side. Solid stone walls and exposed hillside plots make Halifax one of the more demanding places to design for. The fabric assessment matters, the emitter sizing matters, and the outdoor unit position matters.

FAQs

Do you service air source heat pumps in Halifax? +

Yes. AuraNord services, maintains and repairs air source heat pumps for homeowners throughout Halifax and the wider West Yorkshire area, whether or not we originally installed the system.

How often should a heat pump be serviced? +

We recommend an annual service to keep your air source heat pump running efficiently, maintain manufacturer warranties and catch any issues early. Care plans are also available.

Do you repair heat pumps you didn't install? +

Yes. Our engineers service and repair most makes of air source heat pump across Halifax, not only systems installed by AuraNord.

Do you service ground source and hybrid systems in Halifax? +

Yes. Air source heat pumps, ground source heat pumps, exhaust air heat pumps and hybrid heating systems are each serviced on their own plan, with their own time allowance on the day.

Will servicing keep my warranty valid? +

Manufacturers commonly make a documented annual service by a qualified engineer a condition of the warranty, so a missed year can leave the most expensive parts of the system uncovered. We issue a written report after every visit, which is the record a manufacturer will ask for.
